ABOUT ME
I am a social worker, an artist, a social justice educator, and PhD Student. Childless by choice, I lost my sister when I was 50 years old and became a new parent to my niece. I have journeyed through many dark nights of loss and grief and I have come out clear eyed about what matters to me in this world. By night I am finishing a dissertation on the survival strategies of gender expansive youth. Since completing my Master's in Social Work from Columbia University, I specialize in designing, implementing and evaluating social justice youth development programs. I have worked primarily with LGBTQ+ youth at the Center for Anti-Violence Education, LGBT Community Center, Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center, and Hetrick-Martin Institute/Home of the Harvey Milk High School. I work to fuse three areas of my life into a compelling collage--social justice work, visual arts, and a love of teaching and care work.
